A vocational college will be established in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region
In 1883, public figure and philanthropist Ilia Tsinamdzgvrishvili opened the Tsinamdzgvrantkari Agricultural School on his own estate at his own expense and with the help of the public. In 1933, an agricultural technical school was established on the basis of the school. According to 2006 data, the educational institution was focused on agrarian fields. In 2010, the vocational school was liquidated.
By the decision of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, the old building of the vocational school will undergo complete rehabilitation in 2014-2015, the center will resume its operations, and those agricultural fields that functioned successfully years ago will be revived. The school will also introduce other in-demand professions.
Due to the demands of the private sector, there is a shortage of specialists in the field of agriculture. Around 20 private companies operate in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, which will closely cooperate with the vocational school, thereby facilitating the employment of students. The educational institution will be designed for 300 students.
The Educational and Scientific Infrastructure Development Agency of the Ministry is executing the project for the rehabilitation and construction of the educational institution's infrastructure, the preparation of design and estimate documentation, and the supply/equipping with inventory and technology.
