Presentation of the new National Curriculum portal was held
The goal of the new educational portal is to facilitate the implementation of the national curriculum, increase accessibility to methodological, educational, and other resources, promote modern teaching approaches, visualize interdisciplinary connections, and demonstrate and encourage the effective and efficient use of information and communication technologies in the educational process.
Currently, documents and educational materials accompanying the national curriculum have been prepared within Georgia's educational space, specifically: subject guides for primary, basic, and secondary levels; activities oriented toward the outcomes defined by the curriculum; sample lesson plans; collections of tasks; and various types of methodological literature. All these resources contribute to the implementation of the national curriculum; however, the existing educational materials are scattered, and searching for and selecting them for a specific purpose is problematic for stakeholders and requires time. The new portal is the first attempt to gather all these educational materials in a single space.
Published on the portal are all subject syllabi, accompanied by various educational resources โ recommended and sample activities, simulations, animations, educational games, video materials, and more. Material presented in an electronic format offers advantages such as sorting by desired criteria (e.g., by grade levels, by skills, etc.), rapid searching for necessary information, and the presentation of various types of media within a single field of view. Newly created materials will be permanently uploaded to the portal, and it will be regularly updated with various resources.
The launch of the web portal is closely linked to the development and implementation of the national curriculum. Experts from the INNOVE Foundation of the Ministry of Education of Estonia are actively involved in these processes. During the presentation of the new web portal, visiting Estonian expert Einar Vรคrat shared the Estonian experience in the process of national curriculum implementation with the audience.
