New Year Gift for Kids
It is noteworthy that the play was adapted for adolescents with special educational needs; specifically, a sign language interpreter worked for hearing-impaired students, and a narrator worked for low-vision adolescents.
The New Year's play was presented to the children by the actors of the Ivane Machabeli State Drama Theatre. Alongside the children, the play was attended by Tamar Sanikidze, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, and Tea Tsulukiani, Minister of Justice.
At the end of the performance, Santa Claus congratulated the children on the upcoming New Year and handed out gifts.
One of the priority directions of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is the development of inclusive education. The system is actively working to facilitate the integration of students with special educational needs into society and the educational process, and a number of projects are being implemented to improve the quality of teaching and learning for them.
