The magical days continue
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Tamar Sanikidze has prepared a New Year gift for the students of the public school in the village of Atotsi, Kareli District, located near the temporary dividing line. On January 7, on Christmas Day, the Minister invited the children to the Rustaveli Theatre to attend Robert Sturua's children's play “Magical Night”. Tamar Sanikidze attended the performance together with the students, which featured almost all the leading actors of the Rustaveli Theatre.
Public schools in villages located near the temporary dividing line are a matter of special care for the Ministry. A number of projects, including social programs, are being implemented for the teachers, students, and university students of these villages - for the New Year, teachers of public schools in villages along the dividing line were awarded bonuses of 150 GEL. In the 2013-2014 academic year, 415 students living in villages adjacent to the dividing line received funding, and in the 2014-2015 academic year, funding is planned for up to 600 students.
At this stage, issues regarding school heating, equipment, provision of textbooks, student transportation, and other important matters have been resolved. Among them, telephone and internet communication problems caused by the impact of high-frequency antennas located beyond the temporary dividing line were resolved. By decision of the Ministry, wireless (Wi-Fi) networks and VoIP phones were installed in the villages, enabling schools to maintain reliable and uninterrupted communication with the telephone network of the educational system.
