Involvement of the Private Sector in Vocational Education
In recent years, the active involvement of the private sector in the development process of the vocational education system has significantly contributed to the programmatic refinement and development of in-demand professions, as well as the introduction of modern approaches in the teaching process. State colleges have introduced state-of-the-art technological laboratories and training workshops. Furthermore, the public and any interested individuals have the opportunity to receive free education, acquire a profession, and, most importantly, secure employment.
Since 2013, the Public College "Spektri" has been actively cooperating with the company "Geo-Turan" and the Water and Gas Training and Scientific Research Center "Asia Energy". As a result of this cooperation, the "Euro-Master" project was planned and developed. Within the framework of the project, a million-lami investment was made in the college. Specifically, a modern technology training laboratory was established at the college, equipped with an interactive projector, robotics, and audio equipment, which allows for conducting audio and video lectures and online lecture broadcasts from abroad.
Based on these technologies, an industrial practice laboratory was also created, where students have the opportunity to learn to work with equipment from leading global brands ("Rothenberger", "Kroll", "Rico", "Ritmo", "Turan Borfit", "Hitachi"), which increases motivation and provides them with European-quality education. This represents the piloting of dual education on the basis of the college.
The project also entails the certification, training, retraining, and employment of students at "Euro-Master", where graduates will make service provision easier and more productive through the use of innovative equipment. The company "Geo Turan" undertakes the obligation to retrain and subsequently employ 150 graduates in 2015.
Today, the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Tamar Sanikidze, visited the "Spektri" vocational institution, personally familiarized herself with the modern technology training laboratory, met with students, and attended their practical classes.
