Registration for those wishing to receive vocational education begins

All interested persons have the opportunity to acquire their desired profession with state funding in the fields of tourism, construction, agriculture, information technology, services, and others. Nationwide, there are 34 educational institutions founded by/with the participation of the state that implement vocational education programs. For the current year's spring admissions, 26 educational institutions implementing vocational programs are involved and participating in the registration process.
Registration can be completed at information centers across Georgia, the Ministry's educational resource centers, and the institutions implementing vocational education programs. Applicants wishing to register need only bring their ID card.
Upon completion of registration, to begin studies at the initial level, the registered applicant must undergo vocational testing organized by the National Assessment and Examinations Center of the Ministry. The purpose of the testing is to determine the compliance of the applicants' vocational skills with the profession they have chosen. It is noteworthy that persons with special educational needs (SEN) are given the opportunity to register in accordance with the aforementioned procedures as usual, however, they benefit from alternative forms of vocational testing, which are assessed based on trying out the profession through a multidisciplinary team.
Those wishing to transition from level to level and continue their studies, after registering at the vocational educational institution, will undergo testing organized by the institution itself.
For the first time, enrollment of applicants in vocational education programs through the aforementioned procedures was carried out in the autumn of 2013, and subsequently in the spring and autumn of last year (2014), based on which a total of nearly 19,000 applicants were enrolled and received 100% state funding to acquire their desired profession. Among the enrolled students, more than 200 vocational students were persons with special educational needs.
In cooperation with employers, a number of vocational educational programs have been refined. Vocational colleges are equipped with renewed infrastructure, a modern material and technical base, and cooperate with various companies that provide internships for vocational students and employment for successful graduates.
