The rehabilitation and equipping of the school in the village of Khaisi has been completed
In the 1990s, 120 eco-migrant families affected by natural disasters settled in the village of Khaishi from Svaneti, and the school was built at that time. Until now, the Khaishi Public School had never been renovated; all utilities were out of order, and the building leaked during rain. Due to the condition of the school, the local population was also leaving the village.
Over the past two years, the school infrastructure has been completely renewed: the academic buildings were re-roofed, doors and windows were replaced, classrooms were renovated, a conference hall was built, floors and stairs were replaced, new handrails were installed, walls were painted, a modern heating system was installed, restrooms were upgraded, and an outdoor sports ground was constructed. An indoor sports hall will also be arranged during the school break. The school has been equipped with educational and office furniture.
The Khaishi school has also been adapted for students with special educational needs. A ramp and appropriate restrooms have been installed, and in a few days, an integrated class will open at the school, where 10 students with special educational needs will study. For this purpose, the Ministry has assigned two special education teachers to the school.
The majority of the students at the Khaishi school demonstrate high academic performance; last year the school had 7 gold medalists. The school participates in projects initiated by the Ministry.
Generally in the Tetritskaro Municipality, several schools have been renovated, and the construction of a new school meeting modern standards has already been completed in the village of Samghereti. At this stage, the process of equipping the school is underway, and it will soon commence operations. Rehabilitation works in the municipality will also be carried out this year.
