Tamar Sanikidze responded to the Day of Remembrance of the Junkers
Today, on the Day of Remembrance of the Junkers, the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia pays tribute to the Georgian junkers who sacrificed their lives in defense of Georgia's independence. The struggle of the junkers is a critically important heroic episode, rich documentary material of which has been abundantly preserved in the history of Georgia.
“History will always remember the deeds of the junkers, with all their gravest consequences. Their self-devotion is an example of heroism for every Georgian. The glory of Georgia rests precisely on the merits of such individuals,” stated Tamar Sanikidze, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, in connection with the Day of Remembrance of the Junkers.
