Rehabilitation of the vocational college is underway in Lagodekhi
The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia continues to visit infrastructure projects. This time, Tamar Sanikidze inspected the rehabilitation process of the educational building of the public college โAisiโ branch in the village of Shroma, Lagodekhi. Along with the educational building, the student dormitory will also be renovated. The project is important in terms of increasing geographical accessibility so that the population living near the border has the opportunity to acquire vocational education.
Starting from the 2016-2017 academic year, Lagodekhi will have one of the strongest vocational educational institutions in the Kakheti region, which will serve up to 300 students and implement the following 12 vocational programs: Farmer, Veterinary Service Specialist, Beekeeper, Forester (Lumberjack, Taxator), Gardener (Ornamental Plants), Nursery Enterprise Specialist, Agricultural Business Producer, Accountant, Stylist, Cultural Heritage Guide of Georgia, Tractor-Driver-Machinist, Computer Networks and Systems Administrator.
Teaching in the aforementioned programs will be of great importance for the integration of the population of Saingilo into the Georgian vocational educational space, which was interrupted due to the absence of a vocational educational institution in the Lagodekhi Municipality. It will also be of great significance to involve the non-Georgian population of Lagodekhi in vocational education, which will contribute to the economic strengthening of Lagodekhi and its surrounding areas.
The promotion and development of vocational education is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. In this direction, the Ministry is implementing important projects, which include both the refinement of educational programs, the introduction of new modules and modern teaching methods, as well as the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects:
Completed in 2015:
- Full rehabilitation of the educational building of the vocational college โLakadaโ (Tsalenjikha);
- Partial rehabilitation of the dormitory of the public college โAisiโ (Gurjaani, Kachreti);
- Full rehabilitation of the educational building of the Alvani branch of college โAisiโ;
- Full rehabilitation of the educational building of the Dedoplistsqaro branch of college โAisiโ;
- Full rehabilitation of the educational building of the Baghdati branch of the public college โIberiaโ (Kutaisi).
1,946,522 GEL was spent on all these projects.
Ongoing projects:
- Full rehabilitation of the educational building of the vocational school โTetnuldiโ (Mestia);
- Full rehabilitation of the dormitory of the Senaki vocational department of Zugdidi Shota Meskhia State University, along with the full rehabilitation of the workshops of the same department;
- Full rehabilitation of the educational building of the public college โAisiโ (Kachreti) within the framework of universal design, construction of a beekeeping workshop;
- Full rehabilitation of the educational building of the Lagodekhi branch of college โAisiโ;
- Full rehabilitation of the educational building of the public college โSpektriโ (Tbilisi) within the framework of universal design;
- Full rehabilitation of the educational building of the public college โMermisiโ (Tbilisi) within the framework of universal design;
- Full rehabilitation of the educational building of the public college โIberiaโ (Kutaisi) within the framework of universal design;
- Full rehabilitation of the educational building of the vocational college โOpizariโ (Akhaltsikhe) within the framework of universal design;
- Full rehabilitation of the workshops of the vocational college โModusiโ (Rustavi);
- Full rehabilitation of the educational building of the public college โAkhali Talghaโ (Kobuleti);
- Full rehabilitation of the educational building of the Education Management Information System (Tbilisi);
- Full rehabilitation of the educational building of the Nojixevi branch of the vocational college โPazisiโ (Poti).
10,942,584 GEL will be spent on all these projects.

- Construction of a beekeeping workshop and a canteen at the Ilia Tsinamdzgvrishvili Public College (Tsinamdzgvrantkari);
- Full rehabilitation of the educational building of the Tianeti branch of the Ilia Tsinamdzgvrishvili Public College;
- Full rehabilitation of the educational building of the Stepantsminda branch of the Ilia Tsinamdzgvrishvili Public College;
- Construction of workshops at the vocational college โLakadaโ;
- Construction of workshops at the vocational college โOpizariโ;
- Construction of a dormitory for 50 students at the vocational college โTetnuldiโ;
- Construction of workshops at the public college โAisiโ (Kachreti);
- Commencement of design and construction for the Art College;
- Commencement of design and construction for the public college โBlack Seaโ (Batumi);
- Construction of workshops at the public college โIberiaโ (Baghdati branch);
- Construction of workshops at the Senaki vocational department of Zugdidi Shota Meskhia State University;
- Landscaping of the yard of the Dedoplistsqaro branch of the public college โAisiโ.
