The renewal process is underway at the Institute of Physics

Today, Tamar Sanikidze, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, visited the Institute of Physics of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, which is one of the research institutions where fundamental, including infrastructural, changes are being implemented with the support of the Ministry. Funded by the Ministry, rehabilitation works of a scale unprecedented since the establishment of the Institute have been carried out at the facility.
In parallel with the arrangement and renewal of the scientific base, problems that had persisted for years in research institutions were addressed at the legislative level, which became possible thanks to the legislative amendments adopted in December 2015. In accordance with the amendments, the legal status of research units is defined, the connection between teaching and research is restored, and the role of the research component in the teaching process is strengthened.
The implementation of the law requires the renewal of the material and technical base of research institutions; accordingly, this process is also underway intensively.
