Statement of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia

The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia monitors student attendance during both the morning and afternoon shifts. However, it is likely that parents are keeping a certain number of children home from school as a precautionary measure.
By decision of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the educational process has been suspended for 3 days in those specific schools where the absenteeism rate exceeds 20%. The missed hours will be made up at the expense of Saturdays.
The Ministry will continue to monitor student attendance in schools. Furthermore, it urges schools to follow the recommendations of the World Health Organization and the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of Georgia, which are related to preventive measures to avoid the disease.
As for the suspension of the educational process due to heavy snowfall, the number of schools remains unchanged.
