English Language to be Studied Free of Charge in the Regions of Georgia

Within the framework of the project "English for Public Engagement and Employment", the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the Ministry of Justice, and the British Council signed an agreement, according to which residents of various regions will learn English free of charge at Public Service Halls. The tripartite agreement was signed by Mikheil Chkhenkeli, Thea Tsulukiani, and Zaza Purtseladze, Director of the British Council.
Within the framework of the project, two professional development courses will be conducted for English language teacher trainers, and 22 English language teachers will undergo a one-week internship in the United Kingdom. In addition, six English language clubs will be established in the border regions of Georgia, where children from ethnic minority, persons with disabilities, and internally displaced person (IDP) families will attend extracurricular classes completely free of charge, utilize books available in resource centers, online resources, audio and video materials, and participate in English language competitions. Professional training seminars in the English language will also be organized in the English language clubs to improve the professional competencies of local teachers.
Trainers retrained within the framework of the project will retrain educators across Georgia, thereby contributing to the enhancement of the quality of English language teaching.
