At the invitation of Mikheil Chkhenkeli, representatives of Times Higher Education will visit Georgia

Within the framework of the World Education Forum, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Mikheil Chkhenkeli met with Times Higher Education representatives Jonny Gil and Michael Caruana, where they discussed the challenges of Georgia's higher education system and the importance of internationalization.

The parties agreed that in the near future, representatives of Times Higher Education will visit Georgia and discuss the format of future cooperation with representatives of the Ministry and universities, which will contribute to the popularization of the Georgian higher education system at the international level.

At the meeting with Times Higher Education representatives, emphasis was placed on the opportunities and ways of expanding the "Study in Georgia" project. Furthermore, the academic programs of Georgian universities that might be of particular interest to foreign students were highlighted.

Given that currently only Tbilisi State University is featured in the Times Higher Education rankings, the meeting emphasized the opportunity for other universities to also enter the rankings, which will facilitate both the attraction of foreign students to Georgian higher education institutions and the development of exchange programs for Georgian researchers and representatives of academic circles.

The World Education Forum, which is held annually in London at the level of world ministers, opened on January 21. Mikheil Chkhenkeli, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, is participating in it alongside education ministers and officials from nearly a hundred countries.

The forum, which is an educational seminar, provides an opportunity for the world's education ministers to gather and discuss challenges existing in the education system, ranging from improving the quality of teaching and learning to achieving better outcomes in economic growth and social mobility.
