Physical education and sports teachers have undergone retraining
Within the framework of the joint project by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the National Center for Professional Development of Teachers, and the State Teaching University of Physical Education and Sport of Georgia, the first stage of professional retraining for public school physical education and sport teachers has been completed.
Physical education and sport teachers from public schools of Tbilisi, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, and Shida Kartli underwent the training. In total, over 550 educators from nearly 300 schools were retrained. A training of this scale and content has not been conducted in Georgia previously.
The participants attended theoretical and practical sessions in various sports. The training was led by professors and teachers, doctors of science, and honored coaches of the State Teaching University of Physical Education and Sport of Georgia. Starting in 2018, it is planned to continue a similar program nationwide, where more than 3,500 educators will upgrade their qualifications.
