The first higher vocational education college in the IT field will be established

Chaired by Mikheil Chkhenkeli, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, the regular meeting of the Education and Technology Council was held.

Concrete steps for the development of education in the direction of modern information technologies were discussed at the council.

The Rector of Business and Technology University presented the project of the “Unified Digital Education Platform” to the members. The platform is intended for higher vocational training colleges, as well as universities and private individuals. It integrates modern technologies and the latest text and video learning materials.

By the decision of the Council, the first higher vocational education college in the IT field will be established at Business and Technology University, the graduates of which will be employed in high-paying positions in international and local organizations. International high-tech companies represented on the Council will be involved in the implementation of the educational programs.

The Education and Technology Council was established on December 25, 2017, and its first meeting was held at Business and Technology University. The purpose of the Council is to improve the quality of education based on cooperation with international technological companies and relevant educational institutions. The next meeting of the Council is planned in the near future at the Parliament of Georgia.
