Attention Vocational and Higher Educational Institutions

Within the framework of the State Programme for Vocational Training, Retraining and Skills Enhancement of Job Seekers, the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is launching the acceptance of applications for the implementation of short-term training and retraining programmes for job seekers.

Vocational education providers wishing to participate in the "State Programme for Vocational Training, Retraining and Skills Enhancement of Job Seekers" must submit short-term training and retraining programmes to the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia by March 16 of the current year. When submitting a programme developed jointly with an employer, it is important to identify the co-delivering company by indicating its name.

Short-term training and retraining programmes must be developed in accordance with the in-demand professions approved by the Minister of Labour, Health and Social Protection of Georgia (see appendix).

Along with other important components, short-term vocational training and retraining programmes must mandatory include information regarding the programme duration (in days and astronomical hours), the number of programme beneficiaries (minimum and maximum number), learning outcomes, the ratio of practical to theoretical instruction, and the cost of the programme (cost calculated per single beneficiary, taking into account both the minimum and maximum number of beneficiaries in a group). Furthermore, in a programme jointly developed by the vocational education institution and the employing organisation, the costs to be incurred by each implementing party must be defined (based on the learning outcomes to be achieved).

For information regarding the terms and procedures of service provision within the framework of the State Programme for Vocational Training, Retraining and Skills Enhancement of Job Seekers, please refer to the attached document – Resolution No. 76 of the Government of Georgia of February 12, 2018 "On the Approval of the State Programme for Training, Retraining and Skills Enhancement of Job Seekers".
