The Minister met with the Head of the International Monetary Fund Mission

Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Mikheil Chkhenkeli and IMF Mission Chief Mercedes Vera Martin discussed the progress achieved recently, including following their previous meeting.

The Minister spoke in detail about the steps taken by the Ministry and the positive results achieved in general, vocational, and higher education. The IMF representative emphasized that the proper development of the education system is a fundamental prerequisite for the country's general, economic, and social development.

Mikheil Chkhenkeli presented concrete plans related to the reform of the education sector to the IMF representatives, which are intended to bring about fundamental transformation within the system and ensure the country's sustainable development. The head of the IMF mission expressed great interest in the reforms and assured the Minister of the IMF's maximum involvement.
