Introduction of Short-Cycle Educational Programs Begins in Georgia
Representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia and the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement discussed the legal frameworks of the short-cycle educational program developed within the framework of the project supported by the UK Government's Good Governance Fund (GGF), along with recommendations and projects developed for its implementation and financing.
Short-cycle educational programs serve as a bridge between vocational and higher education and respond to the demands of the labor market. These educational programs make it possible to prepare human resources in a short period of time who are in the highest demand on the employment market. At the same time, program graduates will have the opportunity to continue their studies in higher education institutions, where credits earned within the framework of this program will be recognized.
It should be noted that the short-cycle educational program was developed as a result of recently introduced amendments to the laws of Georgia on Vocational Education and on Higher Education.
