The Minister met with the students participating in the "Summer Job" program in Kakheti
Within the framework of the student employment program “Summer Job”, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Khatia Dekanoidze and Rector of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Sandro Kvitashvili inspected the ongoing archaeological excavations in the village of Melaani, Gurjaani Municipality. Employed at the archaeological site are about 20 students from the Faculties of History and Archaeology of TSU and Telavi Iakob Gogebashvili State University, who registered for this vacancy within the framework of the “Summer Job” program.
During the meeting with the students, the Minister noted that it is gratifying when students are employed in accordance with their profile and that they may soon become participants in an important discovery.
In the Kakheti region, nearly 800 students are employed in various jobs within the framework of the “Summer Job” program.
The student summer employment program, initiated by the President of Georgia, was launched throughout the territory of Georgia during the summer vacation period on July 20, 2012, and will last until August 20. 25,000 undergraduate students from authorized universities in Georgia are participating in it, and their salary amounts to 500 GEL.
