New Model Initiative for the Management of General Educational Institutions

The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is working on an initiative to improve the decentralized governance model, which envisions the creation of a new structural unit – school districts. At this stage, the aforementioned initiative is merely a general vision that will be presented for public discussion. The Ministry of Education and Science will hold informational meetings and receive comments and recommendations regarding the current initiative.

Following the development of a model agreed upon with the public, the implementation of a pilot project will be planned in several districts of Georgia. Only upon the evaluation of the pilot project will a new governance model be developed and introduced across all regions of Georgia.
