A conference on English language teachersโ professional development
The Conference was opened by Zaza Purtseladze, Director of British Council Georgia. Tamar Sanikidze, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, representatives of the Ministry, British Ambassador to Georgia, the US Cultural Attachรฉ, English language experts from Georgia as well as foreign countries, School directors and teachers attended the conference.
Deputy Minister Lia Gigauri introduced a new scheme for teachersโ professional development. Possibilities of continuous professional development for English language teachers and school principals were discussed at the meeting.
Acting teachers were offered to participate in various activities aimed at developing teachersโ practical skills.
Continuous professional development is based on the principle of teachers being eager to develop their skills. This is a process that helps a teacher and a school principal to face the challenges of the profession and benefit a school with high quality education.
