The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia continues visits to the regions. The Minister introduced ongoing updates in the field of higher education to them and answered their questions.
Within the framework of the educational institution infrastructural development project, the rehabilitation of regional higher education institutions is a priority for the Ministry. Accordingly, a number of important projects are being implemented at the Gori State Teaching University in line with modern standards. In recent years, 4 academic buildings of the university have been fully rehabilitated and equipped with new inventory, modern technology, and educational laboratories, and a sports ground with an artificial turf has been arranged. This year, the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia allocated 9,000 GEL to the university to replenish its book collection. Rehabilitation of the administrative building is also planned.
With updated programs, up to 2,000 students study across the university's three faculties (Faculty of Education, Exact and Natural Sciences; Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences; Faculty of Business and Law). The university finances the studies of excellent students and provides them with named scholarships. Recently, the remuneration of professors has increased by 55%, and students participating in scientific conferences are also funded.
