Online registration for first-graders begins on May 20

On May 15, the submission of documents for students registered during the first stage of first-grade registration concluded. On Tuesday, May 20, at 9:00 AM, the universal online registration for first-graders for the 2014-2015 academic year will begin and will end on June 20 at 9:00 PM. In connection with this topic, Lia Gigauri, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, held a briefing.
Registration of first-graders will be possible through a special registration form on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science www.mes.gov.ge and the website of the Education Management Information System www.registration.emis.ge; .
Registration is carried out by the parent, who enters the student's name, surname, personal ID number, date of birth, and the parent's personal ID number into the registration form. Additionally, a telephone number must be provided in order to receive a short text message regarding the successful completion of the registration.
The system registers only those children who turn 6 years old before January 1, 2015. As an exception, students who were registered in private school preparatory classes during the 2013-2014 academic year will be registered. Current legislation does not provide for any exceptions to this rule.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia kindly asks parents to carefully review the registration instructions before starting the registration process. Furthermore, please take into consideration that attempting to register the same child simultaneously, in parallel, or multiple times by several persons is not permitted, as the system will automatically restrict the registration.
