Several hundred schools will be renovated and new schools will be built in Georgia for the new academic year
Tamara Sanikidze, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, briefed the journalistic corps on the infrastructure projects.
In 2014, rehabilitation will be carried out in:
- Tbilisi - 43 public schools. In addition, the construction of 3 schools will begin, and 3 vocational institutions will be rehabilitated.
- Shida Kartli - 24 public schools.
- Kvemo Kartli - 34 public schools.
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 6 public schools.
- Kakheti - 21 public schools.
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 28 public schools and one vocational institution.
- Imereti - 78 public schools.
- Guria - 18 public schools.
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 11 public schools and 3 vocational institutions.
- Samegrelo, Zemo Svaneti/Abkhazia - 56 public schools and 3 vocational institutions.
- Guria, Chokhatauri Municipality, Zoti School; Guria, Chokhatauri Municipality, Shua Amagleba School
- Imereti, Vani Municipality, Zedavani School
- Samtskhe-Javakheti, Adigeni Municipality, Arali School

9 new public schools are being built across Georgia: a public school in the village of Lambalo, Sagarejo Municipality; a public school in the village of Abano, Kareli District; a public school in the village of Bugasheni; a public school in the village of Akhal Dioknisi; a public school in the village of Samgheri, Tetritskaro Municipality; a public school in the village of Mukhrani; a public school in the village of Sadguri Sviri; a public school in the village of Tzipnari; a public school in the village of Tsilkani.
In 2014, approximately 37,542,777.00 million GEL will be spent on the rehabilitation of educational institutions across Georgia.
Among them, 44 schools will be gasified, and a new heating system will be installed in 34 schools

3 public schools will be completed in 2016
The estimated cost for the construction of new schools in 2014-2016 is 55,000,000 million GEL
