Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Lia Gigauri met with the directors and teachers of public schools in the Borjomi Municipality. During the working meeting, Lia Gigauri, together with the participants, summarized the 2013-2014 academic year and discussed the innovations implemented in the system as well as future plans. The Deputy Minister also answered the teachers' questions and listened to their recommendations.
There are 20 public and 1 private school functioning in Borjomi. Out of nearly 600 teachers in the district, 50 are certified and involved in the Teacher Professional Development Scheme. Starting from the new academic year, a new career advancement scheme for educators will be launched, in which all teachers will be able to participate.
