Zugdidi students will benefit from new electronic learning resources

The Georgian Technical University handed over modern electronic educational resources to the Zugdidi Aleksandre Ghurtskaja Natural Sciences Gymnasium. Today, professors from the University’s Department of Physics presented the new programs and showcased distance learning tools to teachers from the gymnasium and Zugdidi public schools. The event was attended by Tamar Sanikidze, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, and Archil Prangishvili, Rector of the Georgian Technical University.

The Department of Physics of the Georgian Technical University handed over virtual learning tools, a complete Georgian language learning course (grades 1-12), and a full package for teaching mathematics, nature studies, music, physics, and mathematics for primary grades to the A. Ghurtskaja Gymnasium in the city of Zugdidi. The new programs will enable the gymnasium students to work remotely from their own school in the laboratory of the Georgian Technical University and conduct actual remote practical work. Students of Zugdidi public schools will also have the opportunity to use these programs. Additionally, the university presented the gymnasium with portraits of prominent physicists.

The A. Ghurtskaja Gymnasium was founded 9 months ago and aims to spark the interest of the region's youth in engineering specialties. The school is equipped with the world's best German-made equipment from Phywe and other modern facilities. Over the first 9 months, in cooperation with the Zugdidi Resource Center, it has already held several seminars for regional teachers by inviting foreign professors, and it is also ready to provide its laboratory base to students of any school for conducting open classes.
