Ministers inspected the construction of the school in the village adjacent to the dividing line
The Educational and Scientific Infrastructure Development Agency of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia has completed the construction of a new school in the village of Abano, Kareli Municipality. At this stage, interior and exterior finishing and renovation works are underway. Today, Tamar Sanikidze, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, and Paata Zakareishvili, State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, visited the village of Abano, met with the local population, and personally inspected the ongoing renovation works.
The public school of the village of Abano was destroyed in the 1990s. For the past 13 years, the school was housed in the building of the Mining Department, but due to difficult conditions, at the beginning of the 2013-2014 academic year, the students had to leave this building as well and continued their studies at the public school of the village of Satsikhuri. During the past academic year, the transportation of students from Abano was carried out daily by means of transport provided by the Ministry of Education and Science.
The new school building, which will be put into operation starting from the new academic year, meets modern standards and is equipped with a heating system, a stadium, indoor sports and assembly halls, a library, and a natural science classroom. The school will also have a doctor’s office and will be furnished with new equipment and technology.
This year, the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is building 9 new public schools in various regions of Georgia.
