The Prime Minister at the Georgian Technical University
"My dream and primary goal is the development of local production, which our country has the resources for, and the role of you, talented and highly qualified students, is essential in this," stated the Prime Minister of Georgia at a meeting with students of the Technical University.
Today, the Prime Minister of Georgia, together with the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, visited the Technical University, where he viewed an exhibition of innovative technologies and held a meeting with students, professors, and faculty members. He personally introduced the ongoing reforms in the education system to the youth and listened to their opinions.
According to the Prime Minister, the government attaches special importance to the development of technical fields.
"The development of new technologies and scientific innovations, particularly in applied sciences, is a great opportunity to accelerate the country's economic development. The Technical University has very good resources to make its voice heard and contribute to this cause," noted the Prime Minister.
He also expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the U.S. government to Georgia's education sector, calling it unprecedented support.
"Through the second compact of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, Georgia received an investment of 140 million GEL, which will be spent on the development of human resources. It is very gratifying that the Technical University is one of the three higher education institutions in Georgia where international and American bachelor's programs will be implemented over the next 20 years, allowing students to receive international degrees in technological and natural science specialties," explained the Prime Minister.
The Head of Government urged students to get involved in the competitions and projects announced by the International Center for Education. He also spoke about the importance of developing the scientific field and noted that the government is working intensively to ensure that scientific activities in Georgia are promising and appreciated.
The Prime Minister shared pleasant news with the students of the Technical University:
One of the Technical University's important projects has been funded, through which the rehabilitation of the building and the equipping of the laboratory will begin. "It is also very pleasant news that this year the agricultural field was added to the list of free specialties. The state fully finances studies in this faculty, because the development of the agricultural sector is one of our main priorities, and I believe that the Technical University will also provide us with qualified specialists equipped with modern knowledge in this field," noted Irakli Gharibashvili.
During the meeting, it was announced that students will be able to receive international diplomas in technological and natural science specialties.
