Let's talk in foreign languages and celebrate the European Day of Languages together
The program included various competitions and demonstration lessons held in parallel. Students had the opportunity to better familiarize themselves with the cultural and linguistic characteristics of various peoples living in Europe, and the winners of the competitions were awarded prizes.
The European Day of Languages was established in 2001 by the Council of Europe to celebrate Europe's cultural diversity and plurilingualism. This day is celebrated annually on September 26. Its aim is to encourage the 800 million people living in the Council of Europe's 47 member states to learn more languages at any age, both in and out of school. Linguistic diversity is one of the key components of intercultural characteristics and Europe's rich cultural heritage. Therefore, the Council of Europe widely promotes plurilingualism throughout Europe.
The event was supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the Delegation of the European Union to Georgia, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Office of the State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.
