School Directors' Conference

A school principals' conference was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the organization PH International. The conference was opened by Lia Gigauri, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia. The event was also attended by David Stonehill, Deputy Director of the USAID Democracy and Governance Office, Marina Ushveridze, Program Director of PH International, and invited school principals.

The aim of the conference is to provide school principals with information regarding the activities planned in schools within the framework of the new civic education program "Future Generation". The program is implemented by the American organization PH International with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The program will assist 480 schools in all regions of Georgia to improve the quality of civic education teaching. Schools will receive supplementary textbooks, and teacher retraining, support for the establishment of school civic clubs, assistance to students in implementing various projects for the benefit of the school and the community, and other activities aimed at strengthening civic education are planned.

Within the framework of the conference, detailed information about the program will be provided to principals so that schools can effectively utilize the resources allocated under the program. The activities of the program will contribute to raising civic awareness among students and the practical application of knowledge acquired by young people during civic education lessons.
