Successful cooperation between the vocational institution and the theatre
Since December 2013, the Poti Public College "Fazisi" has been cooperating with the Poti Valerian Gunia State Theatre. Through a joint initiative of the theatre and the college, an agreement was reached, and vocational students are sewing theatrical costumes and accessories.
During the period of cooperation with the college, the costumes for the plays staged at the theatre ("The Cherry Orchard", "Hamlet", "There is a War in My Garden") were tailored by the college students. It is noteworthy that the theatre reopened in May 2014, and the attire worn by the participating actors was also crafted by the students.
Today, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Ketevan Natriashvili, together with representatives of local self-government, met with the students of the Poti Vocational College "Fazisi", toured the educational institution, and subsequently met with the management of the Poti Theatre to view the costumes created by the vocational students.
"This type of cooperation is particularly important because vocational students acquire and develop practical skills during the work process, while the theatre management, in turn, ensures the involvement of the college's vocational students and staff in cultural events," noted College Director Nino Bakuradze.
The college actively cooperates with the private sector both in terms of curriculum development and graduate employment. The college's partners include major companies operating in the region. Additionally, numerous projects are implemented at the college with the support of international organizations.
The college is fully rehabilitated, and all operating training workshops at the college – carpentry, welding, electrical, styling, apparel manufacturing specialist, etc. – are equipped with modern technology.
As part of the event, Ketevan Natriashvili presented computers as gifts to distinguished tenth-grade students of Poti.
