With the support of Estonian international experts, the revision of the National Curriculum continues
Today, experts from "Innove", a foundation of the Estonian Ministry of Education, met with the teachers of Gori Public School No. 3 and, for the purpose of sharing experience, introduced them to the specifics of the Estonian curriculum. Attention was drawn to the common principles that characterize the curricula of both countries. In addition, experts from the Social Sciences Group of the National Curriculum Department presented planned initiatives in the direction of civic education to the teachers.
The Estonian international experts were hosted by the National Curriculum Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. Within the framework of the revision of subject standards for grades V-VI of the primary level, working meetings with all subject groups of the Department were held in two directions:
1. Review of existing subject standards;
2. Classroom assessments taking into account the specifics of the subject.
The Estonian experts are visiting Georgia for the second time. The purpose of the visit is the support and involvement of Estonian experts in the process of national curriculum revision. The revision process is actively partnered by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia.
The national curriculum revision process currently covers the primary level. Cooperation will also continue in the process of revising subject standards for the basic and secondary levels, developing the framework for the implementation of the national curriculum, and developing the electronic interactive portal of the national curriculum.
