Unprecedented cooperation with Japan begins
Today, a working meeting with the Japanese guests was held at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, where a memorandum of cooperation related to higher educational and research programs in the field of high energy physics and technology was signed.
The memorandum was signed between the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the International Center for Education of Georgia, and the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization KEK (Japan).
Within the framework of the memorandum, the parties are ready to establish, strengthen, and develop international cooperation in the educational process and to train high-level specialists in physics, particle and nuclear physics, physical engineering, and information technology. They will assist young Georgian specialists in upgrading their qualifications at KEK so that Georgian physicists and engineers can become more broadly involved in global, world-class educational and research projects.
The High Energy Accelerator Research Organization of Japan (KEK) will provide study opportunities for Georgian students and enable them to participate in real experiments.
Through involvement in KEK projects and under the supervision of Georgian and KEK staff, the Georgian side will cover only the travel expenses of the students, while other expenses (accommodation, studies, internships, research) will be funded by the Japanese side.
