Educational projects implemented in the Shida Kartli region

Education is one of the state's main priorities. A new strategy has been developed, focusing on the quality of education, accessibility, institutional development, and increased funding. Socially oriented programs have been devised. The curriculum is undergoing revision and development, and a professional development scheme for teachers is being formulated. All public schools are provided with internet access and computers; "Book" (netbooks) were distributed to first-graders, and computers to first-grade homeroom teachers. Within the framework of the concept of a safe and healthy school, the following services have been introduced:

Wireless (Wi-Fi) networks and VoIP telephones have been installed in the villages near the dividing line, enabling schools to establish reliable and uninterrupted communication with the educational system's telephone network.

General education is accessible to everyone. In the Shida Kartli region, 36,673 public school students and 155 private school students benefit from free textbooks, and 3,068 students from 87 schools are served by free school transportation. Inclusive education involves 194 students with special educational needs and 41 special education teachers.

4 alternative preschool education centers have been opened in Shida Kartli, aiming to ensure the accessibility of preschool education for 5-year-old children in areas where there are no kindergartens.

Within the framework of infrastructural projects, a public school was built this year in the village of Abano, Kareli Municipality. In total, over the past two years, 90 public schools and Gori State Teaching University have been rehabilitated.

The establishment of a new vocational education institution is planned in the city of Khashuri.

With the aim of encouraging and motivating students, 3 public schools were funded within the framework of the school initiatives program (4,154.4 GEL). In the 2013-2014 academic year, 164 distinguished students of the Shida Kartli region were awarded gold medals, and 149 students received silver medals. 25 civic clubs were established to raise civic awareness.

To prevent violence, lectures were held in 9 schools, and a mock trial was conducted in 1 school.

Since 2013, 784 students have received state funding in vocational institutions, and 63 students are receiving state scholarships.

In the 2013-2014 academic year, 415 students living in villages near the dividing line received funding, and in the 2014-2015 academic year, funding is planned for up to 600 students.
