A new school has been built in Zestaponi district
Today, Tamar Sanikidze, the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, visited Sviri, inspected the new school, and attended the students' New Year performance. The Minister congratulated the representatives of the Stantsia Sviri Public School on the New Year, wished them success, and handed out New Year gifts to all the students of the school.
For several decades, the students of the village of Stantsia Sviri studied in unbearable conditions. The old school was located in the auxiliary structures of a railway substations on the outskirts of the village, where there were no basic sanitary and hygienic conditions. A high-voltage substation operates 25 meters away from this building, and high-voltage transmission lines, which produce strong electromagnetic radiation, pass directly above the building.
The new school building was constructed in a much better and more favorable location, and this school is one of the 9 public schools built in 2014.
