Rehabilitation of Schools Continues
Starting from the new academic semester, up to 100 students of the Zaridzeebi public school will continue their studies in a school meeting modern standards. Prior to the rehabilitation, the school had been in a state of disrepair for years, lacked a gas supply, and was heated by wood-burning stoves. With the funding of the Ministry, the school was rehabilitated, restrooms were renovated, gasification was implemented, and a modern heating system was installed. The school is equipped with new school furniture and features a renovated gymnasium. In the spring, with the funding of the Ministry, an outdoor sports ground will also be established. For three years now, the Zaridzeebi school—which is also attended by students from neighboring villages—has been served by a school bus, meaning students no longer have to walk 6 to 7 kilometers on foot.
The Zaridzeebi public school is named after a graduate of this school, Zurab Iarajuli, the youngest National Hero of Georgia (the 22-year-old pilot died in Abkhazia in 1993). Out of the 23 teachers at the school, 10 are certified. Alumni of the school include European and World champions in sambo, and school graduate Giorgi Chitauri was a finalist in the project "Talanti". In the past academic year, the school had 9 medalists, to whom Ketevan Natriashvili and Zakaria Kutsnashvili presented medals.
