Presentation for the Press Corps

Minister of Education and Science Dimitry Shashkin hosted a two-day out-of-town seminar for journalists at the Bazaleti tourist complex. The main purpose of the seminar was to familiarize them with the innovations planned in general education for 2010–2011.
Dimitry Shashkin spoke extensively about the ministry's goals and the initiatives to be implemented over the next two years.
The meeting was conducted in a question-and-answer format, and journalists received answers to all their questions directly from the Minister of Education and Science.
Within the framework of the event, the heads of the National Assessment and Examinations Center, the National Curriculum and Assessment Center, and the Teacher Professional Development Center of the Ministry of Education and Science—Maia Miminoshvili, Natia Jokhadze, and Sopio Gorgodze—delivered presentations to the journalists regarding their activities and future plans, and also answered questions from the journalists.
The meeting was organized with the support of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and aimed to increase the transparency of the education reform process through public discussion of these reforms.
