TSU Opens Chinese Language and Culture Room
“Georgia and China have been cooperating for a long time in various directions, including the educational sector. The opening of this center is yet another clear example of how our partner country contributes to raising the quality of education; it is important that a private company is involved in this endeavor. In accordance with the bilateral agreement between our countries, student mobility will be significantly intensified. Our students must successfully utilize this opportunity,” noted Minister of Education and Science Tamar Sanikidze.
The “Far Eastern Regional Studies” program of the Institute of Oriental Studies at the TSU Faculty of Humanities includes two modules: Sinology (Chinese language, culture, and history of China) and Japanology. Currently, up to thirty students are studying in the Sinology program, where Chinese language and culture are taught by Chinese specialists alongside Georgian professors and instructors.
Last year, upon the initiative of Chinese Ambassador Yue Bin, textbooks on the Chinese language and literature about China were donated to TSU.
