The Memorandum of the three ministry for the promotion of the Georgian army
The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Tamar Sanikidze, Minister of Defense Tinatin Khidasheli and Minister of Justice Tea Tsulukiani signed a memorandum of collaboration, which aims to promote the popularization of the Georgian army and to implement joint projects in order to increase the patriotic spirit within society.
Under the memorandum, the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Defence will cooperate in the following projects:
โข Competition - "modern heroes";
โข "Information and educational excursions in the Georgian forces for the high school students";
โข A joint preparation of the educational resources in the public schools on the average level of education to be general elective subject - "The history of the military and national defense".
โข Participation in the processing program of the latest history standards.
In the schools will be announced the contest of the advertisement clips "modern heroesโ for the VII-XII graders. During the contest, students will be making videos about the August 2008 war heroes, where they have to express their attitude towards the heroes of the August 2008 war. Successful videos will be uploaded on the official websites of the both Ministries of Education and Science and of Defence. The winners will be awarded prizes by the both Ministries.
Within The project - "Information and educational excursions in the Georgian armed forces high school students" the Parties will ensure information-educational school excursions for the t X-XI grade students in the Georgian military units. Under the project, the students will get acquainted with a soldier's daily life, visit the military bases, will take part in sports activities with soldiers, and will have a dinner at the base.
Experts of the Ministry of Education and Science and the specialists of the Ministry of Defense will work together on the plans and implementations of every project, which is outlined in the memorandum, will be held workshops, will be agreed and accepted views of joint solutions.
The Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Justice will cooperate in the project "Letters to Soldiers" program. The project involves the School IV-V grade students write letters and send the soldiers taking part in international peacekeeping missions. Also, the soldiers participating in international peacekeeping missions to response to the letters received from students. The aim of the project is to express support and assistance to the soldiers being far from their mother country.
