New Infrastructure Project for Tbilisi Schools
The project, developed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, aims to improve the learning environment and the safety of school students, as well as to achieve significant improvements in energy efficiency in order to reduce costs.
The cost of the project is approximately 22 million euros, of which: 14 million euros will be allocated by the Council of Europe Development Bank in the form of a preferential loan, and 6 million euros has been allocated as a grant from the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P) fund. The project also provides for the co-financing of the Georgian side in a non-financial form (2 million euros). An international company will soon arrive in Georgia to conduct the final evaluation of the project, after which the school rehabilitation process will begin.
