Trainings for members of the teacher assessment group are underway
The "Scheme for Teacher's Activities, Professional Development and Career Advancement" is based on a comprehensive teacher evaluation system. The National Center for Teacher Professional Development of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia has launched nation-wide trainings for the members of general educational institution teacher evaluation groups. Today, Tamar Sanikidze, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, familiarized herself with the ongoing training process at Tbilisi Public School No. 82 and spoke with the teachers after the training concluded.
The target audience of the training consists of school evaluation group members: principals, deputy principals, facilitators, and representatives of chairs (departments). As a result of the training, participants will:

- Familiarize themselves with the structure of the teacher's professional portfolio and the list of documentation that must be reflected in the teacher's portfolio to confirm the mandatory and additional activities envisaged by the scheme;
- Familiarize themselves with the rules, procedures, and evaluation criteria for assessing the teacher's professional portfolio;
- Realize the importance of utilizing teacher-created resources in the educational process and become familiar with the types of resources that will be evaluated within the framework of the scheme;
- Review and practically apply the educational resource evaluation rubric;
- Be able to evaluate a teacher's professional portfolio.
Successfully passing the training modules will be a prerequisite for each member of the evaluation group to acquire the relevant competence for objectively evaluating a teacher's professional portfolio and to successfully carry out its assessment.
