Japanese and Georgian Physicists Will Conduct the Joint Researches

Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK) and Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia in April 2010 in order to foster the cooperation between Japanese and Georgian physicists. In the scope of an Agreement on Cooperation, meeting was held between the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini and Ambassador of Japan to Georgia, Masayoshi Kamohara.

Following tasks were discussed at the meeting between the Minister and Ambassador: support of Georgian scientists, engineers and students to participate in KEK’s ongoing and future long-term researches. Exactly this kind of cooperation is envisaged in an Agreement signed between MES and the Research Organization. An Agreement is designed to deepen the scientific-academic and technical cooperation in theoretical and applied physics and technological fields connected to it.

Agreement that was achieved at the meeting envisages exchanging of academic staff, scientists and students; implementing of the joint projects, giving classes and holding symposiums.

Following higher educational institutions and scientific research centers expressed interest in conducting research in nuclear and elementary physics: Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Ilia State University, Georgian Technical University and Andronikashvili Institute of Physics.
