One Day in Academy

Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Lia Gigauri, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Shalva Khutsishvili and Rector of the MIA Academy Givi Mikanadze got acquainted with the progress of the new academic project “One Day in Academy”. The project is implemented by the MIA Academy in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.

Within the framework of the project, with the support of the staff, lecturers and instructors of the MIA Academy, the public school pupils are provided with an opportunity to take part in academic training courses and practical works in the following directions: first medical aid; travel documents; criminalistics; virtual shooting; hitchful fight tricks; as well as to get acquainted with the archival materials of Georgia’s modern history, kept in the archives of the MIA.

The public school pupils registered on the official web-site of the MIA Academy - www.policeacademy.gov.ge may participate in the pilot project. The program covers both strengthening of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. After passing the academic course, the pupils will be tested. The winners will be nominated according to the test results. The first, second and third placeholders will be awarded with the prizes along with relevant certificates. All test participants will also receive certificates for participation in the program and the memorable gifts with the symbol of the Academy.

The aim of the project is popularization of the MIA Academy, better demonstration of the role of police and information of the pupils about the programs and priorities pending in the MIA Academy.
