Let's Listen to Teachers
At the initiative of Mikheil Chkhenkeli, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, a series of meetings with teachers entitled "Let's Listen to Teachers" has been launched. The Minister held the first meeting with successful Georgian school teachers who have been exceptionally active during the current academic year, have focused on their professional development, and have achieved tangible results in working with students in the classroom. They expressed their desire to share their experience with the Minister, discuss school needs and problems, and offer recommendations on ways to solve these issues. The purpose of such meetings is precisely an open dialogue on topics related to the quality of teaching and learning, as well as addressing the issues of bullying among students and in schools.
At today's meeting, teachers focused on the teacher professional development scheme, final exams, textbooks, communication with parents, and a number of other important topics related to school life.
The dialogue with teachers will continue; the Minister and all representatives of the Ministry are ready to listen to each teacher and share their opinions.
The teachers participating in the meeting were provided with literature on classroom management issues, as well as informational flyers related to bullying and violence, which will be received by all teachers, students, and parents in the coming days, so that they are informed about what bullying entails, what violence is, and how to act in such situations.
