The Gudauri Training Center of the Adventure Tourism School has opened
The Gudauri Training Center of the Adventure Tourism School has officially opened in Gudauri. The school is a joint project of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, and the Mountain Resorts Development Company, which was funded within the framework of the Millennium Challenge Fund project "Vocational Education for Economic Development". To develop new programs, the school received more than half a million dollars in funding within the grant program of the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
New vocational programs in mountain hiking guiding and mountain guiding, as well as certificate programs such as ski instructor, have been introduced at the Adventure Tourism School. All programs were created in cooperation with international partners. Over the past year, active work has been underway with Swiss and German experts to ensure that the new programs are developed in accordance with international standards and requirements.
At the Gudauri educational base, students will be able to live and undergo theoretical training during practical instruction. The training base will be able to accommodate 30 students simultaneously. The school already has its first cohort of students. Students from both Tbilisi and Georgia's high-mountain regions are studying here. In addition to Gudauri, training centers are being established in almost all high-mountain regions of Georgia (Mestia, Bakuriani, Goderdzi Pass, Gudauri).
