Mikheil Batiashvili: Education reform is unthinkable without the concept of a safe school environment

Mikheil Batiashvili, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia awarded 54 credentials for their exemplary work. The Minister awarded the diplomas of gratitude, as well as seven employees of the Resource Officer.

The diplomats have been awarded to resource officers who have risked their lives for the preservation of the student lives.

"Education reform is unthinkable without a safe school concept. Today we are proud to have successful employees of the Resource Offices. We will continue to encourage them in the future. From next year, the salaries be increased, in conjunction with improving their working conditions, which will be reflected in the safe school environment, "said the minister.

Resource Officers take care of protecting public order in schools, creating a safe environment for schoolchildren, teachers and school administrators, as well as raising civilian awareness among pupils. They promote a healthy lifestyle, establish a positive school discipline and create a favorable environment for healthy relationships.

It is noteworthy that from January 1, 2019, salaries will increase by 200 GEL, which is crucial for their professional motivation. It should be emphasized that next year a officers will be added to 130 public schools.
