Mikheil Batiashvili: "When a letter speaks of serious violations, it is our duty to respond to them very quickly, especially when it concerns our children."

"I have an answer to every question related to Zugdidi Public School No. 6 and will present detailed statistics on how many schools are inspected by year," stated Mikheil Batiashvili, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, in response to deputies' questions, adding that he will present complete chronological information at the committee meeting.

"I am ready to present the full report to the committee and answer any question, no matter how long it takes. I am the head of this structure and I am solely responsible for every ongoing process, from inspections to reforms.

Our duty is to react as quickly as possible upon receiving information about violations. The dates for discussing the Board of Trustees are in no way related to election dates. The relevant service of the Ministry regularly conducts and will continue to conduct inspections of various educational institutions in the future. This serves to evaluate schools, eliminate flaws, misconduct, or violations of various types, and take appropriate action. Ideally, Parliament itself should ask the Ministry to perform this function," the Minister stated.
