Cooperation between Georgia and China in the field of education is moving to a new phase
The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Batiashvili, and the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Georgia, Ji Yanchi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China. The aim of the memorandum is to promote the Chinese language and support its teaching in Georgia.
The memorandum is based on the agreement signed between Georgia and China in the field of education, which envisages deepening and developing relations and cooperation between the two countries across all educational dimensions, establishing contacts between educational institutions, and the participation of academic staff and students in exchange programs.
The memorandum will contribute to further strengthening cooperation with China in the field of education. At the same time, it will enable Georgian general education institutions to offer students Chinese language instruction in accordance with the standards set by the national curriculum.
According to Mikheil Batiashvili, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, China is one of Georgia's partner and friendly countries, and cooperation with them in the fields of education and science is of utmost importance. If they so desire, young people will be given the opportunity to learn the Chinese language, which will help them in the future to establish successful relations with one of Georgia's main economic partners and to implement Georgian-Chinese business projects.
