Mikheil Batiashvili awarded Lado Apkhazava the status of mentor teacher

Mikheil Batiashvili, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, upon the recommendation of the relevant commission, awarded Lado Apkhazava the status of mentor teacher for his exceptional pedagogical experience and achievements. The Minister personally informed Lado Apkhazava of this decision when visiting the Global Prize finalist in his home village of Chibati.
The Minister congratulated the educator on his immense success in the international arena and thanked him for popularizing the teaching profession and representing the country on the global stage. The Minister also toured the school and attended the teaching process.
According to Mikheil Batiashvili, Lado Apkhazava's achievement is a tremendous victory for all of Georgia, and in the process of implementing the reform, the emphasis will be placed precisely on such activities and the development of critical thinking skills.
โThis is truly a landmark achievement and a huge victory not only for Lado, but for the whole of Georgia. Lado Apkhazavaโs experience and teaching approaches serve as the best example for introducing more activities, critical thinking skills, and creativity into classrooms within the framework of the reform. This is precisely the right path that helps the development of our children. Today we congratulated Lado Apkhazava on his victory and granted him the highest educator status - that of a mentor, but this is the minimum we can do for such a successful teacher,โ the Minister stated.
Lado Apkhazava himself views the Minister's visit to the village of Chibati as a step forward towards popularizing the teaching profession, and it is gratifying for him that the teaching profession will be even more appreciated in Georgia.
โThis is not only my victory, this is the victory of Georgia, my colleagues, and my students. I will certainly tell the world about the work done by Georgian teachers so that the world can get to know them,โ stated Lado Apkhazava.
The Minister praised Lado Apkhazava's professionalism, calling it commendable and exemplary. Since 2012, Apkhazava has been a manager of a small family-type home and strives to raise his students as active citizens, leaders of modern society, and critically thinking individuals, enabling them to freely express their opinions, generate ideas, and implement initiatives. To achieve this, Lado Apkhazava sets an example for his students through his own life and creativity.
