Official Visit of the Director General of the Foundation to DAAD and DFG

On March 7 and 8 of this year, within the framework of his visit to Bonn, the General Director of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, Zviad Gabisonia, met with the leadership of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Research Foundation (DFG). During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Foundation and DAAD, which entails the implementation of a new program – “PPP Programmes for Project-Related Personnel” (Mobility Program for Joint Scientific Projects). Georgia will be the first state from the post-Soviet space with which DAAD will implement this program.
In addition, the General Director of the Foundation met with the representatives of DFG. The parties discussed the implementation of future cooperation and the planning of joint bilateral programs. A visit of German Research Foundation representatives to the Foundation is planned for September of this year, during which they will present DFG's scientific priorities and funding schemes. DFG's annual budget amounts to 3.2 billion euros, within which all scientific fields are funded.
